Overview

BMW Motorrad MetaRide is a virtual brand space designed for motorcycle enthusiasts to experience the CE 02 in a digital environment that mirrors real-world interaction. Users can explore the bike, test ride it in avatar form, shoot hoops, collect tokens, and even earn a digital jacket for their avatars. The platform aims to grow as a central hub for engagement between BMW Motorrad and its community, with future expansions already in view.

The immersive experience was developed with the support of several creative and technical partners, including PIGIAMA KASAMA, a Game Production Studio based in Amsterdam and specialized in designing branded games and interactive digital experiences. PIGIAMA KASAMA assisted the team of the Metaverse Architect, Kuba Jekiel (HYPERLIVING), BMW Motorrad, Lobeco GmbH, Spatial.io, and Ready Player Me, in creating this immersive digital experience.

Result 1 – 3D Motorbike Optimization for Spatial.io

One of the highlights of the MetaRide experience was the integration of an optimized 3D model of the BMW CE 02 motorbike. PIGIAMA KASAMA worked alongside Spatial.io to transform a highly detailed industrial file into a lightweight asset of only 2 MB, while maintaining impressive visual quality. 

This optimization made it possible for users to interact with the motorbike in high fidelity within a real-time virtual environment. The studio also leveraged the model to produce high-impact renders used in promotional materials, elevating the bike’s appeal and supporting marketing efforts.

Result 2 – Digital Fashion for Ready Player Me Avatars

Another key feature was the development of branded digital clothing for avatars. PIGIAMA KASAMA co-designed and produced these wearables for Ready Player Me, turning them into unlockable rewards within the metaverse. Users who completed a specific mini-game could earn the outfit and use it across multiple metaverse platforms.

This strategy not only boosted user engagement, but also extended brand presence across various digital ecosystems, offering participants a way to personalize their avatars with exclusive, cross-platform content.

Result 3 – Promotional Visuals

PIGIAMA KASAMA also produced a series of renders to showcase the BMW CE 02, highlighting its electric nature and innovative design; positioned as neither a traditional motorcycle nor a scooter, but as an “eParkourer” aimed at a younger audience.

Using advanced 3D modeling tools, the studio crafted visuals that captured the product’s essence and supported the client’s promotional activities with a strong, visual-first narrative.

Solution

Through close collaboration with Metaverse Architect Kuba Jekiel (HYPERLIVING), BMW Motorrad, Lobeco GmbH, Spatial.io, and Ready Player Me, PIGIAMA KASAMA contributed to the creation of MetaRide: a unique digital experience that goes beyond traditional product showcases.

MetaRide offers an interactive platform where users can test new bikes, engage in challenges, attend virtual events, learn about design features, and win virtual rewards. The experience is social and cross-platform, available via web, mobile, and VR, making it accessible and engaging for a wide audience.
