Background

It’s no secret that immersive technologies like VR and AR can be powerful learning tools. They transport students into different worlds – past, present or future – and give them a first-hand experience that’s otherwise impossible, difficult or expensive.

And having made a name for themselves as a leading university in innovation, Arizona State University were looking for a partner to kick off a juicy new project.

And it was a big one. Between a mammoth VR experience and 26 content-heavy game-based assessments to build from scratch, Nucco Brain had their work cut out for them.

CES 2018 saw Meta, Ultrahaptics and ZeroLight debut a new collaboration, allowing attendees to see, hear and feel a highly detailed holographic Pagani Huayra Roadster.

Combining market-leading graphics and mid-air haptic feedback via an advanced augmented reality (AR) headset, this experience gave a snapshot of the future applications of this immersive medium.

Overview

Rishikesh is located in the foothills of the Himalayas in the Indian state of Uttarakhand, in northern India, it is known as the Yoga Capital of the World and Gateway to the Garhwal Himalayas.

It is known as the pilgrimage town and regarded as one of the holiest places in India. Sages and saints have visited Rishikesh since ancient times to meditate in search of higher knowledge.

The Ganges, one of the most sacred rivers in India, flows through Rishikesh. Here the river leaves the Shivalik Hills in the Himalayas and flows into the plains of northern India. Several temples, ancient and new, are along the banks of the Ganges in Rishikesh. Rishikesh, nicknamed “Yoga Capital of the World”, has numerous yoga centres that attract visitors from all over the world.
