Mapshot created a new Roblox game to promote the first movie release of Katja Brandis’s German Woodwalkers novels. In the game, “Woodwalkers: The Obby Trials”, players can transform into different animals. Each animal has unique abilities and a different Obby (or parkour) to complete. These Obbies are regenerated daily to provide fresh content for returning players.

When players complete the obbies, they are rewarded with experience and coins. The coins can be used to unlock additional skins and emotes. The emotes are an excellent example of how to empower the social aspects of the Roblox platform.

Free UGC giveaway

The efficient way to promote a Roblox game is to organize a free UGC giveaway. For Woodwalkers, Mapshot designed a unique hat in a typical Roblox cartoony style in the shape of a Puma head.

On platform advertising

To attract a German audience, Mapshot used Roblox-sponsored ads. These ads placed the game on Roblox’s homepage and drove in new players. The sponsored ads could focus on specific demographics that matched the goals of Woodwalkers.

Influencer marketing

Several German influencers were hired to promote the game via YouTube videos, leveraging their community to create an additional push.
