Visionaries 777’s solution replaces the kitting by paper list approach, highly mentally demanding and error-prone task by using Mixed Reality leveraging the Lenovo ThinkReality A6 HMD and SDK. An AR marker is currently used to deliver a persistent tracking and localize the pick-up locations and drop-off areas in real-time.
The key benefit of this Mixed Reality Kitting assistant is to provide hands-free instructions allowing the user to quickly and easily complete each task.
How it works?
- The admin prepares the Workspace AR layer using a tablet. Each physical box needs to be matched in AR by digital one.
- Picking information are loaded into the system and most efficient pick-up and drop-off instructions are generated automatically by the App.
- The user follows the kitting instructions directly in the HMD. Our solution is designed to quickly prepare orders and prevent picking errors.
Vision
At large scale, using the ThinkReality A6 for Kitting offers productivity improvements and a reduction in error rates. Training new workers through active, on-the-job augmented reality instructions has proven to reduce training time, and increase knowledge retention.
