Welcome to The MURAKA. An immersive experience that lets you live the moment with the power of virtual reality.
Sitting 16.4 feet below the surface of the Indian Ocean, the Muraka – or “coral” in the Maldives’ local language Dhivehi – seeks to provide guests who travel here with an “intimate and immersive experience of one of the Earth’s most breathtaking marine environments.”
Utilizing our VR know-how, we were tasked to give aspiring guests a glimpse of these intimate, immersive and breathtaking moments at the Muraka via a 360° VR experience.
The Virtual Oasis – VR Podium
An activation platform designed entirely for the Centurion cardholder market.
We developed the Oasis Activation platform as a centerpiece to grab peoples attention, but also to give them a taste of the residence itself.
This unit was designed and built in Singapore, and takes design cues from the various fixtures and furniture found inside.
This activation has been deployed as various targeted areas like American Express Centurion Lounge and lobbies, coupled with strategic partnerships and immersion sessions, garnered astounding coverage online and offline. With a remarkable reach on-ground and online, The MURAKA is definitely something a lot of people have been talking about.

The opening shot of the film focuses on the feeling one gets when they approach the island via private sea plane. We chose to do away with the plane interior give people a new perspective.
The user follows the flight path from far away to the entrance walkway.
This was shot on location with a Matrice 600 and Omni Camera rig.

Pro Mantis Remote Dolly system with Stabilisation Gimbal
Creating a seamless POV shot in VR can be challenging. To get away from head mounted cameras and monopods we opted from the latest KIT, The Mantis Pro by Motion Impossible.
This state of the art remote control dolly was shipped and assembled on location and allowed us to create shots that would have previously been impossible to capture.

The latter half of the video takes place in the yet to be built Muraka Undersea Residence.
We recreated the villa in all its glory before it the fabrication had been completed.
We breathed life into the coral with meticulously modeled creatures, all textured and rigged to appear as believable as possible.
Every tile, stitch and handle was designed to mirror the architect vision for the final residence.

To garner interest whilst the residence was still being fabricated, we created a set of high quality CGI print visuals.
Every detail from the fabric type, the type of stitching and even the fish outside the window were crafted to create a real sense of what it would be to be inside the Muraka.
These assets were syndicated by all major publishers, from the Telegraph to CNN, thee visuals went viral over night.
