Fashion talk with a difference: how the world’s premier digital couture house is planning the industry’s evolution.
As one of the world’s foremost digital-only fashion brands, Amsterdam-based The Fabricant appears in Decentraland’s Metaverse Fashion Week (MVFW) as part of the Cash Labs Gallery. Brytehall speaks with Michaela Larosse, The Fabricant’s head of content and strategy, about how it’s just a matter of time until digital fashion democratises IRL fashion institutions and its structures.
Would you tell us how The Fabricant planned its lineup for MVFW?
The Fabricant is creating a runway show that celebrates our community, by showcasing a selection of pieces that [was] co-created in season one of The Fabricant Studio, our newly launched NFT creation platform that allows anyone to become a digital fashion designer. There are 12 pieces in total that demonstrate a spectrum of garment silhouettes, fabric designs and creative possibilities. Each piece is recreated for Metaverse Fashion Week as a Decentraland wearable, modelled by avatars.
